In physics,
wormhole is a hypothetical connection between widely separated regions of
space–time; with this music - Through
the Wormhole - by Norberto Gonçalves Da Cruz, this connection is
no longer hypothetical.
I still remember the first time I saw Norberto;
he had shorter hair, a mandolin from Venezuela, and a grandfather with whom he shared
the eager to play. I believe that it is not by chance that, in English, one
uses the word “play” to refer to a theatre performance, to a musician that is
at the verge of putting everything (s)he is in his/her music, and to what
children do when they want to have fun. All of what is just said
describes perfectly the way Norberto plays.
I always believed that Norberto would play on the day of my wedding. I suppose that he does it now, connecting widely separated regions of space-time, and isn’t this what music is supposed to do? Time and space may bend but they also connect.
